Automative External Defibrillator (AED)
Training Course
Our agency offers an American Heart Association
course that gives hands on training in the use of
an AED. The course is taught along with basic adult
CPR skills in a course called Heartsaver AED.
"Anyone who can learn CPR can learn to use an AED" -Dr. Richard Cummings, a pioneer in the treatment of out of hospital arrests.
AED TRAINING COURSE
The course provides excellent training
with a video describing the use of an
AED in different scenarios and the care
and upkeep of an AED in the workplace
or other situations. Length: 2 1/2 hours to 3 hours
Includes HeartsaverAED student textbook,
certification card, classroom materials and other class materials. Pediatric
skills can be added to this course if
desired for a small increase in class
fee.
Note: In Florida in April of 1997.
the Good Samaritan Law was amended to
cover the use of AEDs' by people who
have been trained in a CPR or First
Aid course in their use.
